University Center for Excellence on Developmental Disabilities is a program focused on improving the quality of life for persons with developmental disabilities across the entire age span by promoting: community inclusion and membership, independence, productivity, and social participation; high quality and effective community based services and individualized supports for persons with developmental disabilities and their families.

The Gateway Program provides a portal for community connections and student volunteerism focusing on cultural inclusion, academic service-learning, and focused applied community research.

Alianzas The mission of Alianzas is to foster inclusive communities that recognize and address the unique qualities and challenges of Hispanic/Latino residents using a community-based, collaborative learning approach.

MODDRC (Missouri Developmental Disability Resource Center) The goal of the MODDRC is to provide disability information, parent-to-parent/peer support, and volunteer opportunities, so no one has to be alone in their experience with disability.

The Sue Shear Institute for Women in Public Life promotes inclusion and diversity by encouraging fuller community participation of women through volunteer service, board service, and seeking public office. The Sue Shear Institute has offices at the UMKC Institute for Human Development and at the University of Missouri St. Louis.
